Our little man!

Greyson is getting so big....even bigger now that Emery is here. He wants to do everything himself...including cut up his own food. (I am just impressed with his fine motor skills!) Here he is cutting up his polish sausage...using his toddler knife of course!

Smiley!!

Emme is getting more smiley lately and is really responding to our voices and faces. She is just beautiful!!

Nothing runs like a Deere....

Greyson has an unusually large obsession with John Deere tractors...especially for a two-year old boy!! B and Pop-Pop gave Greyson a "tractor John Deere" of his own for Christmas and he has been tearing up the yard with all of this warm weather. Here he is looking oh so cute!

Busy as a bee....

Grandma gave mommy a family membership to the Greensboro Children's Museum for Christmas and we love to go when we get the chance. On Monday mornings, they have a program called "Busy Bees" from 9-12 and Greyson, Emery and mommy are going to make it our outing for Mondays each week. They have story time and a music time on top of all of the awesome things that are already there. Greyson finds something new each time we go! They just opened a new train exhibit and Greyson loved it. After we left, we met daddy at Center City Park downtown near his office building and had a picnic lunch. It was great to get to see him and we already can't wait until he comes home! :-)

Showing some skin!!

Emery got to wear a dress for the first time yesterday and she looked so cute!! She is already wearing 3-6 month clothing. At her 1 month check-up, she had gained 2 lbs and grown 2 inches. She is in the 97% for "height" and the 90% for weight! She is going to be tall and lean just like her brother who is not even 3 and measures 39" tall and weighs 38 lbs!!!! He looks 4!!! No matter their size, they are both beautiful.

No need to check the DNA!

If there was any doubt that she is his daughter....!!!!

Greyson's new bike!

For an early birthday present, Greyson got a new bike from Mommy and Daddy. Of course it is a Tarheel bike because what would be better for our little Tarheel!

Colic, Shmolic!

Every night from about 7-9, Emery decides to show us what she is made of. She is impossible to settle. Somewhere in the mountains of West Virginia, there is a little lady that needs to be thanked for sharing her secret...and thanks to Linda for passing it on. Wrap the baby in a blanket, put socks on their feet and then cover their feet with a hot water bottle (bean bag in our case). Things are getting better around here because we are learning how to have the upper hand!!!

Easter Egg Hunts!

Greyson got to go to two Easter Egg hunts this year....well three actually but we have pictures from two! First we went to an egg hunt at the Faenza house and that was really run. Greyson had a good time...well...all of the kids did!! Then over Easter weekend, Greyson had another egg hunt at Grandma's house. Greyson's cousin Ethan helped find the eggs! Peter Cottontail also hid some eggs at B and Pop-Pop's house. Those eggs were inside and were very tricky to find! Some had money in them!!

Greyson's Green Thumb

Greyson helped his Pop-Pop plant a tomato plant which is becoming an annual thing. He loves to watch the plant get bigger and can't wait to pick the first tomato! Now if only he and Pop-Pop could work something up in our backyard!!!

Here comes Peter Cottontail!

Greyson has renamed the Easter Bunny as "Peter Cottontail"...it is so cute. He loves to sing the Peter Cottontail song. Here he is checking out his Easter basket that was full of Lightning McQueen stuff.

Like Father, Like Son

As I said before, Greyson loves to do anything that his daddy does...including cheer on Carolina....Go Heels! If he could wear Tarheel stuff everyday he would...which for me equals a lot of laundry!

2 Hands...2 Kids!

What a perfect fit!!!

Shaving....already??

Greyson got a shaving kit from his Grandma and he loves to shave during his bath just like his Daddy!! He loves to do anything that Daddy does....it is so cute!

Playing on the floor

Greyson really adores Emery and cannot wait for her to be able to play with him. He tries to show her all of his cars and trucks. I hope he won't be too disappointed when she gets older and maybe would rather play with dolls. I am sure that they will have no problem finding something to play together!!

Chillin'

This picture says it all!

"Asleep" on the couch

The other day, Daddy and Emme were asleep on the sofa and Greyson wanted to climb up there with them. Mommy thought it would be a good photo op so I grabbed the camera. Greyson tried to pretend to be asleep like Daddy and sister. Cute huh?

Smiley McSmiley

Emery does a lot of smiling although mostly in her sleep. She is starting now to smile at our faces but not as much as while she is sleeping. She is just too cute and looks so much like Greyson as a baby, it is uncanny! I told everyone I thought I would end up with a "blue clone" and a "pink clone" and I think that is exactly what I got. She loves to sleep on her belly (a no-no, I know), loves her bouncy seat when she is awake, loves to be in bright rooms, and has a tendency to keep her hands near her face. She has the longest, prettiest fingers. Her eyelashes are getting so long and are getting darker everyday. It will be so fun to watch her continue to change everyday.

A little fishing trip!!

Since he had gotten a new fishing rod from baby sister when she arrived, Greyson and Daddy decided to try it out while daddy was off of work for a week. He practiced in the front yard a little bit and kept telling us, "I'm going to throw it is the water and maybe a fish will bite it. I am going to catch a fish and a shark." HA! We all went to a local park that has a fishing pond and Greyson and Daddy used nightcrawlers (ewww!!) to catch his first fish!!! (A little brim) Being 2, his attention span was very short but we were expecting that. Honestly the highlight of the trip was being able to ride in the front seat of Daddy's truck. It's a '93 and has no latch system for modern carseats and also has no airbags. Since we were going right down the road, we felt ok letting him ride up front. He loved it. When they were pulling out of the driveway, he even gave me the thumbs up!!! Too cute! It all must have been a little too exciting because our little dude fell asleep on the ride home.

Big Brother Greyson

Greyson adores his sister who he adoringly refers to as "my baby". It is so cute. He tells us all the time, "I love this baby." He is still learning what "gentle touch" means exactly but we could not have had a better transition for him. He is doing so well! We cannot wait until she is older and can interact with him more....right now it is just cooing and holding his finger which he loves!!! In the hospital, he got a bracelet just like mommy and daddy and his big brother present was a fishing pole! He was so excited. He wants to help do everything...that started with wanting to give her a bottle in the hospital. He is just too cute. He is mommy's favorite boy!!!

The Stainback 4!!!!

Emery Kathryn joined our family on March 18th at 4:55pm. Greyson just adores her. She has been a great baby who sure has a set of lungs!! Welcome Baby Emery!
