Before and After

Little Miss Emery loves her floor gym! (WHy do I keep calling her "little"...she is 14.5 lbs and 26.5"...BIG Miss Emery!) Today, I put her down to roll around and kick and went in to the kitchen to help Greyson with a little craft we were working on. Well....when I can back...she wasn't exactly where I had left her! Little Scooter-girl! She'll be off and running before we know it. Can you guess which is "before" and which is "after"?

He fought the Oreos....

and the Oreos WON!!! The proof is on his face! Man, this boy LOVES Oreos!

Happy Father's Day!

This year was Preston's first Father's Day as a father of two! WOW how life has changed since we got married almost 6 years ago...in every sense of the word!! Our children ADORE their father and he adores them too. I am so lucky that my children have such an AWESOME father! Happy Father's Day honey!!! I love you!

VBS

Greyson, Emery and I spent the last week in Henderson so that Greyson could attend VBS. At first, I didn't know how he would do leaving me, but he ended up doing really well! I was so proud of him. He made a craft every day which he loved and got to play on the 2 "playgrounds" (swingsets) that the Church had. On Friday night, the children had a little program for their parents and he got up on the stage in front of everyone...he didn't sing or do any hand motions...but he got up there and looked cute nonetheless. :-) I'm his mother, aren't I supposed to say that? Here he is during the program last Friday night.

Little Miss Emery

Isn't she beautiful?? Emery is now 3 1/2 months old and she is such a happy little girl. She is smiling and talking all the time. When she isn't, it's because she has her hands in her mouth to help soothe her gums because she is teething horribly!! She HATES tummy time which is getting frustrating but sits up with support from the Boppy. Go figure. She is just a stubborn little girl....which obviously must not run in this family!!!! She ADORES her brother and smiles everytime she catches him in her view. He can do anything and she smiles!! We love you sister!!!

Seriously...

this boy LOVES tractors. It is amazing how he can manage to find a tractor no matter where we go. Here's Greyson in the play area at Alamance Crossing in Burlington. Isn't he cute???

Doodlebugs!!

One of Greyson's best buds is Sawyer. One Friday, we met him and his mother there and got to hang out. Here is a cute picture of Sawyer and Greyson as insects. They have the best time together!! We also got to see a peacock with its feathers fanned out while walking around in the outdoor mini zoo. It was so cool!!! We can't wait to hang out with them again!

High Point City Lake Park

The park in Jamestown is pretty cool. This is actually the park where Greyson and Daddy went fishing right after Emery was born. They have an awesome playground that we have visited several times. We have been waiting for the rides to open and they are cool too. We visited the park yesterday and rode the train and the merry-go-round. Greyson had a good time and LOVED the train. (We have been checking out the train parked in the tunnel for winter's keeping since March.) Mommy liked the train because it was the only way to get a breeze!!!! We will be visiting the park more this summer for sure!

How could I ever think THIS would be EASY!?!?!??

The other night, I tried to sit down and have Preston take a picture of me with me "chillins". What a feat!!! Greyson started out wanting to hold his sister (who is actually getting almost too big for him to hold!) and then when I wanted to get in on the picture taking, he decided he was done. Then after Emery and I had taken about 15 pictures of just the two of us, he tried to squeeze his way in. Well....three's a crowd. We'll try again some other time.

The KidZone

We made it from Africa to North America and we were still alive!!! Almost at the very end of the Zoo is an area called KidZone with hands on stuff that kids can do. Greyson loved it. His favorite was the garden. He kept coming back to us saying, "I'm done" and then a second later would say, "Oh, Oh, I gotta go work." He is so cute. He liked the little fishing pond too. The KidZone seemed to be the perfect little pick-me-up. Daddy and I will have to remember that! Enjoy the pics!

The ZOO!!!

After about what seemed like two months of rain (not really but it seemed that way), we decided to take advantage of a beautiful Saturday and venture down to the N.C. Zoo. Mommy and Daddy forgot how much walking it was!!! The weather was beautiful and a lot of the animals were in quite the photogenic mood!! Greyson said that his favorite were the giraffes although they stayed pretty far away. The polar bear was feeling very friendly!! Greyson really enjoyed the "KidZone"...I'll post pics of that next. Emery did a great job but she did miss...well...all of it sleeping!!! All in all, it was a great day and we were all exhausted when we got home!! (A few more Saturdays like that and Preston and I will be in great shape by the end of the summer!)

Mr. Personality

Greyson does a very good job of making people THINK he is shy. But to those of us who know him, we know that he is the farthest thing from SHY. Here he is modeling the newest fashion in pajama wearing. I couldn't stop laughing at him and his eyes. He is a piece of work that Greyson!!!

Ready for Kindergarten?

Greyson amazes me EVERYDAY with something new. On this day, he was at the kitchen table "doing an art project" and picked up his safety scissors and just starting cutting away. Now granted he was cutting the sales ads and his coloring books into shreds, but I was more impressed with his motor skills than what exactly he was cutting. :-)

The Natural Science Center of Greensboro

For mommy's birthday present, B and PopPop gave our family a membership to the Science Center and Greyson, Emery and I checked it out today for the first time! It was so cool. We spent most of our time checking out the animals outside in the mini-zoo. There is still so much to see next time. We are going to enjoy this place so much. Now we can go to the Science Center and the Children's Museum!! Grandparents are the BEST!!!

Check out these cool pics of some of the animals. Greyson loved the goats the best because he could touch them. I loved the tigers because when one of them saw us, she charged the plexi-glass viewing area and knocked her head into it! Let's just say....thank goodness for plexi-glass! It was a little scary. The Wallaby walk-through was cool too!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

We celebrated my birthday by going to dinner on Thursday and then again on Sunday in Henderson. Greyson was such a great "candle-blower-outer"! He loved licking the candles too! He's a chocolate lover just like mommy!!!

Happy early Birthday Greyson!!!!

For an early birthday present, B and PopPop got Greyson a swingset for the backyard. It took Daddy and PopPop a LONG time to set it up but it is finally nearing completion....enough for us to play on it already. Instead of two "big boy" swings, we put on sister's swing so that she could enjoy this new toy too! Here they are having a great time getting some fresh air. (Emery isn't quite as amused as Grey.) Isn't it awesome?
